Rahul Mehta has been teaching creative writing and literature at University of the Arts since 2014. They are the author of three books: a short story collection, Quarantine (HarperPerennial, 2011); and a novel, No Other World (Harper, 2017); and a forthcoming poetry collection, Feeding the Ghosts (University Press of Kentucky, 2024).

Experience

  • Mehta has published a short story collection and a novel, and their work has been featured in numerous publications. A poetry collection is forthcoming in 2024.
  • Rahul's fiction and essays have appeared in the Kenyon Review, Epoch, The Sun, Noon, the New York Times Magazine, the International Herald Tribune, Marie Claire India, and on the Op-Ed page of the New York Times.
     

Their short story collection, Quarantine (HarperPerennial), won the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Debut Fiction and the Asian American Literary Award for Fiction. In 2011, Rahul was included in the "Out 100" list of inspiring individuals published by Out magazine.
