Housing

Welcome Home, UArtists!

On-campus housing at University of the Arts offers an opportunity to live in the heart of Philadelphia. Not only are you close to your classes and the dining hall, you're also close to the history, culture and food that make Philadelphia famous.

Living on campus is all about community: You’ll have the opportunity to express your art, share your ideas and make a difference in the campus and city. The people you meet will impact your life in profound ways, both personally and professionally.

Our Mission

The Office of Campus Life aims to provide students with an environment in which to learn about themselves and their fellow community members at UArts. As students encounter a range of individual expressions and viewpoints, we hope they use the provided education and resources to support their journey and contribute to the overall UArts community. Under the guidance of the UArts Student Code of Conduct, each student is challenged to nurture, respect and advocate for oneself and each community member.

Residence Halls

There are three on-campus student residence halls, featuring various room configurations that range from studio to three-bedroom units. Rooms are grouped into apartments that share common living spaces, except for studio apartments. Each residence hall has resident assistants (RAs) who are undergraduate students who live in the residence halls. They work to create communities that foster experiences of student learning and engagement for residents. In addition to RAs, you have a team of staff members in Campus Life to support you while you live on campus. Each residence hall has a designated public safety officer, working 24/7 to ensure a safe and secure environment for the whole UArts community.

Housing Application Schedule

The availability of on-campus housing is limited. Therefore, housing applications must be received by the appropriate deadline to guarantee on-campus housing reservations for the fall and spring semesters.

Returning Residential Students

For current students, the housing application process begins in early March and applications will be due on April 5th, 2024 to be guaranteed housing for the 2024-2025 academic year. Roommate requests must be made by April 5th, 2024 through the Housing Portal. Campus Life will send an email to current students with an application link and additional details to the housing selection process.

Accepted New Students

Newly accepted students will receive a housing application and additional details about the housing process following their acceptance materials beginning April 1. Housing deposits for new students are due May 1 and applications are due on May 15th to be guaranteed housing for the next academic year. All roommate requests must be made by June 15th. Please note that for newly accepted students, a housing deposit cannot be made before the tuition deposit is submitted. All new students who have deposited and completed a housing application will receive their housing assignment in mid July 2024.

After these deadlines, housing applications will continue to be accepted while space remains available. In the event that all campus housing spaces are full, students will be added to a housing waitlist.

Dining Services

Dining Services offers a wide selection of vegan, vegetarian, kosher and dairy-free culinary options and is able to accommodate any dietary restrictions you might have. From freshly prepared salads and deli sandwiches to plentiful pasta dishes and hand-tossed pizzas, you won’t want to eat the same thing every day.

All students are able to use dining services. Students who live on campus are required to have a food (meal) plan. Off-campus and commuter students may choose from a variety of food(meal) plans or simply pay with cash or a card.
