Cast

Katie McQuail (Jutta)(she/her) is a Senior Musical Theater major this year. Katie made her UArts debut last year as Fastrada in "Pippin," and other favorite roles include Sally Bowles in "Cabaret," and #00 in "The Wolves." Endless thanks to her incredible cast, peers and professors at school, and family back home in Massachusetts.

Alanna Messier (Eye)(she/her) is a Senior Musical Theatre major. This is Alanna's first show at UArts. Some of Alanna's favorite past roles include: Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Inga in Young Frankenstein, and Lady Larkin in Once Upon a Mattress. Alanna sends her thanks to her family who’s always supported her passion.

Sierra Steinberg (Mouth)(she/her) is a Sophomore Musical Theater major. This is her UArts debut! Past credits include The Little Mermaid (Ariel, Count Basie), Carrie (Margaret, Exit 82 Theater), Heathers (Heather Chandler, Pebble Players), etc. So much love to her supportive friends and family and the indescribably talented cast and creative team!

Lizz Hughes (Hand)(she/her) is a Sophomore Musical Theater major. Past credits include: Matilda (VSC), Marry Poppins, Kiss Me Kate, Seussical, Gypsy, Carousel, Annie (VMT), Crazy For You, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (GSA). Big thanks to her family, friends, and teachers for their love and support!

Tayler Aprile (Shadow)(she/her) is a Sophomore Musical Theatre major! This is her UArts debut! Past credits include Wedding Singer (Holly), Pippin (Catherine) and Beauty& The Beast (Belle) A big thank you to her friends and family (Mom, Dad, Emmie, Cleo & Bella) who have always believed in her.

Samantha Belding (Ensemble, u/s Jutta)(she/her) is a Sophomore Musical Theatre major. She is thrilled to be making her UArts stage debut! Favorite past productions include Tuck Everlasting (Director and “Jesse”), Newsies (“Katherine”), Shrek (“Fiona”). Olivia Berkson (Ensemble, u/s Mouth, Shadow)(she/her) is a Senior Musical Theater major. Past UArts credits include “Kill the Whale” (Flask) and devising work in “The Myths and Hymns Project” and “Cluster-puck”. You may have also seen her work as a music director, arranger and writer! Bryant Yamil Gipull Garcia (Director)(he/him/el) is a senior Directing, Playwriting, + Production major. Kennedy McAlister (Music Director) is a Philadelphia musician and performer, and thrilled to be working on this project. She teaches at Walnut Street Theatre, runs her own vocal studio, and was recently seen as Sandy Cheeks in "The Spongebob Musical" at Upper Darby Summer Stage. Many thanks to the In the Green team & cast for being such a joy to work with!

Becca Claire (Stage Manager)(she/her) is a 2021 UArts graduate with a focus in stage management and directing. Since graduation, Becca has been doing various stage and event management jobs, as well as COVID safety. Some recent theatre credits include ASM and COVID safety for Snowy Day at the Arden, being a resident teaching artist for stage management and design at Hedgerow Theatre Company during their kids summer camp season, and stage managing Without Wings, the inaugural production of Philly Children's Theatre's traveling summer season, and Facepaint for Eat Purple Theatre Co. for Philadelphia Fringe 2022 at Theatre Horizon. Upcoming credits include stage managing She Loves Me and directing a section of The Vagina Monologues, both for Cecil College of Maryland, as well as event work with Fever Events, and work as a part of Rutgers Camden's over-hire theater faculty. She wants to thank UArts for bringing her back into the Caplan, as well as the incredible team for their hard work and her family for all of their support always.

Aidan Schultz (Assistant Director, Choreographer)(she/they) is a Junior Acting and DPP major with a minor in Songwriting. Past UArts shows include; Bodies and Bones (Bones-In-The-Woods), I Want A Country (Ensemble), and All At Once (Co Stage Manager). This musical is near and dear to Aidan and she would like to thank the entire cast and crew for making this process an educational, heart filled, and mind bending experience.

Cate McCrea (Set/Props Designer) is a scenographer specializing in collaborative development of new works. Off-Broadway: Corsicana (Playwrights Horizons, co-design with Lael Jellinek), The Collision/The Martyrdom (59E59), A Woman of the World (The Acting Company). Other work at Danspace Project, Ars Nova ANT Fest, New Ohio Theatre, the Tank; and with Little Opera Theatre of New York, Columbia University Ancient Drama, and the Drama League.

Kelly Hayes (Props Assistant)

Johanna "Jo" Dunphy (Puppet Designer) Holds a BA and an MFA in performance, and has been a puppeteer and builder for almost 20 years. She builds and performs for theater and film/tv. Currently, she’s working in the art department for a new kids tv show making custom props, costumes, and puppets. 

Allison Neiheiser (Costume Designer)(she/her) is a Junior Theater Design major. Past UArts credits include Assistant Set Designer for I Want a Country and Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea, Assistant Costume Design for Spring Senior Festival 2022, and Assistant Props Design for Fall Senior Festival 2021.

Mike Inwood (Lighting Designer) is an Emmy Award-winning lighting designer based in Philadelphia. Past Philadelphia credits include productions with The Arden, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Theatre Horizon, Opera Philadelphia, and The Bearded Ladies Cabaret.
