JOB TITLE: Part-Time Instructor
DEPARTMENT:  School of Film
REPORTS TO: Dean, School of Film

Summary: The School of Film at University of the Arts located in Philadelphia, PA is establishing a pool of applicants for part time/adjunct positions. This pool of applicants would be drawn upon to provide special teaching expertise in the areas of screenwriting, narrative and documentary film production, post production, cinematography, film and TV studies, animation, and game art.  Classes may be taught in-person, hybrid, or remote. 

Part time faculty are expected to be positive thought leaders and demonstrate a desire to work collaboratively with a diverse student population. The University is particularly interested in reviewing applications from candidates with demonstrated investment in advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility, and whose identities and/or professional work intersect with or address historically marginalized communities.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in their related field and/or significant professional experience
  • Active and established screenwriters, filmmakers, animators, scholars, and theorists who have substantial experience

The School of Film provides an interrelated curriculum that combines intensive practical experience with a broad understanding of its programs within historical, theoretical, aesthetic, and cultural contexts. While emphasizing independent creative work that expresses personal vision, we also value collaboration, and our students typically work with majors from disciplines across the University, including music composition, acting, dance, design, photography, and crafts.
