Why did you decide to become a FYG?
I have done this solely to make a difference in the lives of the new students. I love being able to help others and being the first person they meet and interact with on campus is so special to me; I really take the job to heart.
What's your favorite thing about UArts?
I love the collaboration we get to have with everyone, across both majors and schools. It is the best thing to be able to work with so many new people and to make so many new friends along the way.
What makes you excited about New Student Orientation?
Something that always makes me super excited about working Orientation is just the connections I'm able to make, both with the new students and with my fellow FYGs. We just all become such a family, and I'm still great friends with a lot of the people I've worked with in my past three Orientations!
What advice would you give to new students before they get to campus for their first semester at UArts?
I think one thing to note before arriving on UArts soil, if you will, would be that we are such a warm and welcoming community of students. Everyone is accepted here, and everyone has equal opportunity to succeed and make such a big difference on this campus.
