Why did you decide to become an Orientation coordinator?

I have experienced so much growth and so many wonderful memories while on the Orientation team over the last couple of years. I thought it was about time that I take the next step as a student leader and become an OC. Moving from mentoring and supporting new students to supporting the FYGs sounded like an awesome challenge. Plus, it will be a great opportunity to put my energy into getting to know more FYGs because that's something I've struggled with in the past!

What is your favorite part about being on the Orientation Team?

I just love the positive energy that the team brings to any task. It is impossible not to feel good around the FYGs and OCs. I also love the way we all learn to problem solve together and communicate with such respect and appreciation for each other.

Why do you think NSO is a great experience for new students?

NSO is a tailored experience for all new students made to create opportunities to learn more about the community. I think it's great because it's the only time that new students have this experience and they have to seize the moment in order to connect with their peers and campus. It is all of UArts served on a silver platter, which is what makes it so incredible!
