Biography
Connie Koppe was exposed to music and singing at an early age and initially trained as a music teacher (BS, Music Ed, Indiana University of Pennsylvania ’73) and then as a classical singer (MM, Vocal Performance, Temple University ’77). Inspired by a workshop with vocal instructor Kristin Linklater in 1994, she earned the esteemed designation to teach Linklater Voice Work in 1998 (DLT ’98) and is certified to teach Louis Colaianni’s Phonetic Pillows (CP Phonetic Pillows Phonetic Pillows ’12), a playful and effective method to understand and learn the sounds of language.

Experience

  • Connie Koppe has sung with the Opera Company of Philadelphia Chorus and the Pennsylvania Opera Theater. 
  • She has performed children’s theater, led songwriting workshops and taught as a visiting artist in schools since 1980. 
  • From 1999 to 2010, Koppe was lead singer for the cabaret band Enchanté and has recorded an album called No Regrets. 
  • She is also an opera stage director for companies in the Philadelphia area, where she has directed operas such as La Bohème and The Marriage of Figaro.
