Claire Sun

Claire Sun is a sixteen-year-old who lives in Merion Station, Pennsylvania. She often tackles social justice issues in her writing, with past topics ranging from the rise of white supremacy to the ethics of volunteer work and voluntourism. Outside of political topics, she also writes about her experience as a first-generation American, her encounters with abuse, and the pressure to succeed that she shares with most suburban, upper-middle-class students in her area. When writing purely for entertainment, Sun enjoys writing pieces that toy with the readers by resisting expectations and tropes. Overall, as a writer, Claire Sun seeks not only to have people hear her, but she seeks to make people listen.
