Fiction Runner-Up, "Black Girls Can't Run"
Taylor Bennett, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has always felt that if you work hard enough for anything you can achieve it. There are many things she wishes to accomplish, such as progressing in track and field and bettering herself as a writer. In her story "Black Girls Can’t Run" she tries to demonstrate independence and determination. The story is a reminder that you don’t always need an applause from the crowd.
