Campus Crime & Fire Reports
Campus crime and fire reports are available upon request at all Public Safety post locations. This report is published in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 and its accompanying regulations also require that institutions issue an annual fire report, which is included in the security report.
If you have any questions or would like to obtain a copy, please contact the Public Safety office at 215-717-6827.
The state definition differs from Clery definition. Individual category crime rates can be calculated by comparing the individual category statistics to the combined full-time equivalent undergraduate and graduate student population (FTES) and the full-time equivalent employees, which is approximately 2,500. Dividing this population figure into 100,000 and multiplying the resultant figure by individual category statistics will produce the crime rate per 100,000 persons per category.
The Crime Statistic report is defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistic Act, a federal statute codified at 20 U.S.C. with implementing regulations in the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations at 34 C.F.R. 668.46. Listed offenses are those that have been reported to the Public Safety Office and took place on University campus and its adjoining properties. They may involve University students and/or personnel or guests/private citizens who have filed a report with our Officers or other appointed personnel.
Due to the nature of our campus, the statistics in the report may not reflect the total neighborhood trend of crimes or crime statistics within the vicinity of our facilities. Also, as with all crime data, those reported cannot reflect unreported crime information.
To obtain more accurate crime statistics of the areas surrounding our campus, please consult the Philadelphia Police website or visit the Public Safety Office at 1228 Spruce Street to obtain monthly security reports.
