Celebration of Music is a talent search that showcases the best young musical talent across the U.S. Singers, musicians, bands and dancers between the ages of 4 and 25 are encouraged to enter in their city by submitting an audition tape. NGXB, a senior piano major in the School of Music, entered the regional Celebration of Music competition in April 2018 for the Philadelphia/Greater Lehigh Valley district as a solo pianist.

Out of 30 contestants of various talents, determined by public vote, NGXB was named the regional winner. The recorded performance will be available to markets nationwide and will air on PBS in 2020. Each contestant was invited to perform for the cameras, followed by a short interview for the show. NGXB performed his own piano arrangement of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” His video of this performance was also featured recently on Joe Jonas’ Instagram story!

Blum is looking forward to graduating with his Bachelor of Music degree in May 2020.
