MBET Senior Selected as Forbes Under 30 Scholar

August 21, 2019

This allows scholars to represent their respective universities and programs while learning and connecting with the top leaders and innovators in business.

Music Business, Entrepreneurship & Technology (MBET) senior Domenyka Sarauz was recently selected as a Forbes Under 30 Scholar. This honor grants her a full scholarship to attend the Forbes Under 30 Summit, a prestigious business conference held in October. The Forbes Under 30 Scholars program launched in 2017 and awarded 1,000 students with passes to the summit that year.

Michael Johnson, program director of the MBET program, has worked closely with Sarauz and can attest to how much she deserves to attend the conference. “She’s an absolute force of nature and I am consistently amazed by her effort and output,” he said. “To say she has a bright future in this industry would be an understatement, and we are extremely proud.”

The Forbes Under 30 Summit is a conference for young people interested in technology, entertainment, finance, fashion, food and philanthropy. This year’s conference will combine a number of events including a private music festival, industry-focused field trips and community service to create an immersive experience for all attendees. In addition to these activities, the summit will bring in A-list speakers like Serena Williams to share their insights into the world of business. Speakers from previous years include Malala Yousafzai, Michael Phelps, Kendrick Lamar and more.

“I'm so grateful to the Forbes Under 30 Scholars committee for selecting to me to attend one of the most coveted conferences in business and allowing me to represent my school as well as careers in the music industry,” Sarauz stated. “This wouldn't have been possible without the constant support of the professors, faculty and administration at UArts.”

The summit will take place in Detroit from Oct. 27 – Oct. 30.
