Music Business, Entrepreneurship & Technology (BS)

Don’t be afraid to ask for help and take things slow. There is a lot to learn and that can’t be done on our own.

Mandii York is a young Black, non-binary creative raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Growing up, they spent their free time finding joy in many creative outlets, however, writing music was what stuck with them. In high school, Mandii taught themselves how to play guitar and piano. At this time, Mandii was also given their first opportunity to study music in a classroom setting. They fell in love with the creative process and were impacted by witnessing the effect a great song could have on a person. It is this experience that inspired Mandii to study at the University of the Arts.

During their time at UArts, Mandii was able to explore a great deal. In the spring of their final year, they dedicated their senior project to exploring new and unique ways that music can be created. They decided to focus on artist management and songwriting, and are now in the process of building their own artist management company. Mandii graduated in 2020 with a degree in Music Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology and a minor in Songwriting.
