Gloria Quinn
Adjunct Professor
Gloria Quinn (trans zimmer) is a composer and filmmaker living in Philadelphia. She teaches electronic music production at University of the Arts and makes work about being transgender in the violent maelstrom of contemporary neoliberal ideology that attends the core of the murderous American Empire.
Biography
Born in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1997, Gloria went on to join the American Boychoir, with which she performed in places like Carnegie Hall with the likes of Pierre Boulez and the Royal Concertgebauw Orchestra.
Later, she played in the acclaimed Princeton High School Studio band. Fed up with the sterile, consumerist, hypermasculine culture of these ensembles, Gloria dove head first into the freakiest and most experimental music she could find. She also fell in love with the Philadelphia DIY rock, punk, rave, and standup comedy scenes, in which she now performs a hectic combination of DJing, dancing, acting, and classical conducting.
She self-released her first major film project, Gloria’s Stupid World 2: World Stupider in October 2023 and is currently working on her next film, which will be about queer nightlife.
