Illustration (BFA)

Daniel Fishel is program director for UArts’ Illustration program. Since 2009, they have had their work appear on records, book covers, apparel, products, advertisements, wine labels, animations, magazines and newspapers and in galleries around the world.

Biography 

Daniel Fishel is an award-winning illustrator, animator and educator. He holds a BFA in Illustration from UArts and an MFA in Illustration as a Visual Essay from the School of Visual Arts, New York. Fishel specializes in creating figurative illustration work that is vibrant, metaphorical, empathic and sometimes dry-wit. He is a regular contributor to the Washington Post Opinion page and has worked for clients including Apple, Target, Audible, Bloomberg, Central Park Conservancy, Flocabulary, Netflix, Baron Fig, Macmillan Publishers, Scholastic, HarperCollins, McSweeney’s, New York Public Radio, NPR, AARP, The New York Times, Forbes, NBC News, Vice, TODAY, This American Life and Politico.
