Our music degree programs provide direct, pragmatic educational experiences that prepare you for a lifetime in music. You will develop the necessary musicianship, critical perspectives, and entrepreneurial know-how to be successful in the music profession, or in hundreds of related fields.

UArts is located in the center of Philadelphia, on the Avenue of the Arts - the heart of the performing arts district in Philadelphia. There are nineteen professional concert halls, jazz clubs, music clubs, and theaters within four blocks of The UArts School of Music.

Performance opportunities play an important part in your education. Consequently, the School of Music offers a wide range of ensemble experiences including:

UArts Music Ensembles teach students a broad array of skills developed by playing and learning a complete diversity of music from Basie to Brazilian, Be-Bop to Rock, Traditional Classical to Contemporary Jazz, and Musical Theater to Urban Drumming. Student studying for a degree in music at UArts are involved in a rigorous schedule of performances with over 225 concerts and recitals presented each year.

The School of Music Faculty is made up of experienced and practicing music professionals, many of whom have attained international stature as performing and recording artists. This professional faculty is supplemented by an impressive roster of guest artists along with a regular series of workshops, master classes, and performances guests that has included:
