Job Title:  Visitor Services Assistant

Department: Office of Admissions

Reports to: Assistant Director for Visitor Services

 

Position Summary:

Position works to assist with on-campus recruitment and admission services in support of the undergraduate enrollment goals of the University.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Reception Related:

  • Answers Admissions phone and transfers calls.
  • Manages and maintains Admissions email inbox.
  • Meets and greets visitors and channels to appropriate staff members and/or answers questions and responds with appropriate information.
  • Maintains hospitality area for guests.
  • Responsible for maintenance of reception area (i.e., keeping it presentable and stocked with literature, etc.)
  • Opens and sorts mail.
  • Completes inquiry card for call-in requests for information.
  • Schedules appointments for tours and portfolio reviews and maintains all aspects of the Admissions Calendar.

Visitor Services Related:

  • Assists with the planning and implementation of current on-campus recruitment events such as tours, open house programs, accepted student day, and information sessions.
  • Assists with managing the day-to-day operations of the Welcome Center.
  • Assists with supervision, training and assessment of student tour guides.  
  • Collect and organize tour feedback from prospective students and families.
  • Assists with coordination of school group tours.
  • Participates and assists with on-campus recruitment events as needed

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes on a daily basis.
  • A positive attitude, a people-centric approach to work, and a good sense of humor helpful.  
  • Interest in and/or commitment to the goals of higher education.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum associates degree required
  • 3-5 years of administrative and/or visitor services experience
