SEX- AND GENDER-BASED MISCONDUCT DISCLOSURES

A Guide for University Employees

All UArts employees, with the exception of counselors in the Counseling Center and medical professionals in the Student Health Center, are mandatory reporters and must report incidents of sex- and gender-based misconduct to the Title IX coordinator.

 WHAT IS SEX- AND GENDER-BASED MISCONDUCT?
  • Sexual Harassment

  • Sexual Assault

  • Dating Violence

  • Domestic Violence

  • Stalking

  • Sexual Exploitation

  • Discrimination/harassment based on sex, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation

 

 1. LISTEN  2. REFER  3. REPORT
  • CONFIRM the person’s safety. Call 911 or x6666 if needed.

  • PROVIDE nonjudgmental support. Avoid questions that suggest blame or show doubt.

  • RESPOND with compassion and sensitivity.

  • REVIEW reporting options with the person (the right to file with law enforcement & with the University).

  • DIRECT the person to on-campus and off-campus confidential resources.

  • EXPLAIN your obligation to report the information (be clear that you are NOT a confidential resource!)

  • CONTACT the Title IX coordinator to report the incident: titleix@uarts.edu or 215-717-6362.

 

 REMEMBER…
  • Reports can come from anyone (survivor, witness, accused person, third party, etc.).

  • There are no time limits to reporting.

  • Reports can come by any means (in person, email, phone).

  • It does not matter if the accused is not a UArts community member.

  • It does not matter if the incident(s) happened on or off campus.
