“I want people to see the value in having a perspective that’s different from most. That’s what we need right now.”

Alex McFadden is a nonbinary writer and student at University of the Arts. They were raised in Birmingham, AL, but their family is from Philadelphia. Alex’s love for filmmaking came from their parents, and the majority of their upbringing was spent talking about all aspects of it: writing, editing, acting, etc.

Growing up, Alex participated in a diverse set of art forms including singing, acting, and playing the guitar. While they still actively participate in those art forms, their primary form of art has always been writing. Alex’s work aims to tell stories that have never been told before. Their goal is to share the intricacies of living as a marginalized person and explore angles of human existence that have never been explored.
