Working with a variety of materials and a field of concentration in glass, Carmichael Jones makes work that explores shifting identities; the personal and the archetypal, the handmade and the readymade, the meticulous and the reckless.

Carmichael is the creative co-director of The Whole Shebang, an arts and performance space in South Philadelphia.

Carmichael has taught glass classes for more than 10 years, UArts and at Tyler School of Art and Penland School of Craft.

A 2015 fellow at the Creative Glass Center of America, Carmichael's work is in the collection of the Museum of American Glass in New Jersey, and he has shown work at Vox Populi, Little Berlin and The Ice Box project spaces, among others.
