Theater - Devised Performance (MFA & Certificate)

Scott Sheppard is a performer, director, creator and teacher living in Philadelphia. A co-director of the Philadelphia-based theater company Lightning Rod Special, he has been a creator/performer and producer for Let the Dog See the Rabbit (2015), Go Long Big Softie (Philly Fringe 2013) and Hackles (Philly Fringe 2012). Scott is a proud member of the inaugural class at Pig Iron’s School for Advanced Performance Training (2011-2013) and was a creator/performer for Pig Iron Theatre Company’s 99 Breakups.

During the fall of 2014, he was a guest faculty member at Colgate University, where he directed and co-created its fall production, Seeing the Beast. He recently co-created and performed in Holden at Ice Factory in NYC and at FringeArts, PA. He also co-created Underground Railroad Game with Jennifer Kidwell, which premiered as a curated piece in the 2015 FringeArts Festival. Underground Railroad Game was presented by Ars Nova in 2016 where it won the Obie Award for Best New American Theatre Work and has gone on to tour in Germany and Washington, DC.
