Educational Program Design (Online MEd)

I want my classroom not only to be a place where creative energy flows but a safe place where my students feel accepted and celebrated for who they are so that they can reach their true potential.

Liliane (Lili) Sharpless working with a student.

Liliane (Lili) Sharpless is an art teacher at Germantown Friends School and a degree candidate at University of the Arts. Although she previously earned a Master of Science in Recreation, Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Lili has always held a place in her heart for education and decided to follow this calling.

Lili is also an artist. While she first returned to teaching in a general classroom role, as she gained skill and confidence as an educator it became evident that she should combine her love of teaching and art, and she transitioned to art education. Her teaching practice focuses on helping children learn through art and understanding that creating art is a process. Children explore different media, techniques, and artists in her classes, while also being introduced to life skills through art.
