On my worst days, when I wonder where my place is in the theater, I remember the designers that inspired me and I keep going. On my best days, I hope to serve as this kind of role model for someone else.

LeVonne Lindsay is the Costume Shop manager and an adjunct assistant professor at the University of the Arts. She has a BS in Fashion Design from Philadelphia University and an MFA in Costume Design from the University of Maryland, College Park. LeVonne held academic positions at Stevenson University, James Madison University and Valdosta State University. She was the recipient of the Allen Lee Hughes Fellowship at Arena Stage from 2001 to 2003 and Resident Designer for the African Continuum Theatre in Washington, DC from 2002 to 2004. Notable design credits include Wilma Theater: Kill, Move, Paradise; Philadelphia Theatre Company: Sweat; Arden Theatre Company: Ragtime, Gem of the Ocean, The Bluest Eye; Pig Iron Theatre: A Hard Time; Theater Horizon: White; Simpatico Theater: Time Is On Our Side (world premiere); Virginia Stage Company: Native Gardens, The Hampton Years (world premiere); Arena Stage: Yellowman; Kennedy Center Theatre for Young Audiences: Jason Invisible, Color Me Dark; Everyman Theatre: Topdog/Underdog, A Raisin in the Sun, The Brothers Size; Hangar Theatre: Gem of the Ocean. LeVonne held technical and staff positions at Upper Darby Summer Stage, Stages St. Louis, Washington National Opera, Arena Stage, Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp, Shakespeare Theater Company and Wolftrap Opera Company. Awards and honors include the Barrymore Award for Outstanding Costume Design, Gem of the Ocean (2019).
