Ben Pranger is a visual artist who works in the area between sculpture and painting. He has shown his work extensively in the U.S., including exhibitions at Curious Matter, Art House Gallery, and Drawing Rooms, all in Jersey City, New Jersey; Dumbo Open Studios and Trestle Gallery, both in Brooklyn, New York; Field Projects, New York, New York; artist-run Satellite Show, Miami; and Grizzly Grizzly, Philadelphia. Pranger has participated in artist residencies at Kohler Art/Industry, Fine Arts Work Center of Provincetown, the Marie Walsh Sharpe Studio Program, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and has received sculpture grants from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and the New Jersey Council for Art. He has taught at Parsons School of Design, Drew University, Bloomsburg University, and Hollins University, and earned an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA from Oberlin College.
