The University of the Arts is authorized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to grant degrees in the visual, performing and related arts and has been approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).

University of the Arts (UArts) is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE or the Commission) www.msche.org. UArts’ accreditation status was reaffirmed by the Commission in 2019. A statement of the University’s accreditation status can be found on the MSCHE website. MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education including distance, correspondence education, and direct assessment programs offered at those institutions. The Commission’s geographic area of accrediting activities is throughout the United States.
