Jill Manning-Yoga

Meet Jill Manning

Jill has worked for two decades, teaching a staggering amount of classes and workshops and has unpacked some pretty tough asanas along the way. While she has laid her mat out at in the now famed yoga shala in Mysore and has made 6 extended trips India to practice, study, and adventure much of what she learned about yoga and teaching happened here in her beloved hometown of Philadelphia.

Jill’s original teaching certification was granted by the Integral Yoga Institute, NYC and is also an authorized teacher of Ashtanga Yoga. Recently, Jill has taken on even more challenging roles like mother and full-time UArts fundraiser. What makes time with Jill well spent is her unflinching daily visits, wherever life has taken her, to her own mat that make her teachings informed, wildly awake, funny and relevant.

Here at University of the Arts, we have taken significant steps to respond to the COVID-19 crisis and ensure that our students, faculty, and staff are as secure as possible during this unprecedented situation. Like most higher education institutions, we acted quickly to move to remote and alternate modes of learning, ensuring that students could maintain progress toward their degree programs.

Yet these changes have not come without challenges. We recognize that many students are facing immediate hardship due to the pandemic, including housing insecurity, food insecurity and/or a significant loss of income that might impact their ability to successfully complete the spring 2020 semester.

To support our most vulnerable students, we have expanded the mission and broadened access to the UArts Cares fund, which provides immediate financial support to those students facing extenuating hardships. A gift of any size will help our students navigate these uncertain times.
