In the event of fire, generally the fire alarm will sound and community members will begin to exit the building. However, fires are extremely dangerous and spread very quickly. We cannot assume that you will have a great deal of time to exit the building. In the event of a fire, community members are instructed to:

  • Pull the alarm to activate siren, if it is not already audible
  • In an orderly fashion, vacate the building via the nearest exit and stairway
  • Avoid elevators
  • Students with physical limitations should get a buddy and alert Public Safety at 215-717-6666 of their location, generally trying to secure themselves in the stairwells
  • Once exited from the building, immediately move to the other side of the street, away from the entrance
