Tom Spiker is a music producer, engineer, touring musician, improviser and educator based in Philadelphia, Pa. He has toured throughout the world in many musical roles and styles, ranging from Avant-Jazz to Hip-Hop to Americana to Bollywood playing guitar, bass and bits of keyboards and percussion. Based out of NYC in the 90s, he moved to Philadelphia in 2000 where he quickly became immersed in the Avant Garde scene, performing with musicians such as G. Calvin Weston, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, John Medeski, Billy Martin, Steven Bernstein’s Sex Mob and members of the Sun Ra Arkestra. Gradually, the music started to open up stylistically and include artists such as: Kelis, G Love and members of Bob Marley’s Wailers. Currently, Tom owns and operates Undercarriage Recording based in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia who’s past clients include Meghan Trainor, Ellie Goulding Tunji Ige and Rare MP3s .
