Michele Kishita holds many roles at the University. In addition to her position within the Advising Center, Kishita is an instructor for the Pre-College Art, Media & Design Summer Institute program as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the undergraduate First Year Writing Program.

Kishita is a Philadelphia-based abstract painter whose work is in a number of private/corporate collections, including Toyota and Kaiser Permanente and has been exhibited at the Sharjah Art Museum in the United Arab Emirates. She has been published in Fresh Paint Magazine, The Artist Catalogue, Create Magazine, as well as several literary journals. Kishita has been teaching for fifteen years and has been working eight years as an adjunct professor teaching artists how to write. She received both her BFA and MFA in painting from the University of the Arts. Her work is available to view online at
