Lauren Whearty
Lauren Whearty is a painter, educator and curator based in Philadelphia.
Biography
Lauren Whearty earned her MFA from The Ohio State University, Columbus, and a BFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia. She has been a co-director at OyG Projects, an artist-run, nonprofit curatorial collective, since 2017. Whearty has attended residencies at Yale Summer School of Art; Vermont Studio Center, Johnson; Soaring Gardens Artists Retreat, Laceyville, Pennsylvania; and Golden Foundation, New Berlin, New York. Recently, she has received an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant and a grant from the Joseph Roberts Foundation. Whearty currently teaches at University of the Arts and Tyler School of Art & Architecture, Temple University.

Lauren has taught studio art and art history at The Ohio State University, Columbus; Tyler School of Art & Architecture, Temple University, Philadelphia; Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Widener University, Chester, Pennsylvania; University of the Arts; and NYC Crit Club.
