Lisbeth Bucci is an adjunct associate professor in the MAT in Art Education program and a practicing artist.

Biography

Bucci earned her BS in Art Education from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania and her MSEd in Education from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. As a practicing artist, she focuses on 2-D works, including a range of traditional fine art media, and her most current work is primarily mixed media and printing.

Experience

  • Over the past 34 years, Bucci has been an art educator in both public and private settings, teaching visual art K–12 and arts integration to higher education preservice students. She was a K–12 visual art curriculum coordinator and hiring advisor for more than 20 years in public education.

  • Bucci is active in state and national art and education associations.

  • Currently, she is serving as past president of the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA).

  • She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Department of Education Advisory Board for Art Education and the Pennsylvania Arts Education Leadership Coalition.

Awards & Accolades

  • Bucci was recognized as the PAEA 2008 Outstanding Secondary Art Educator.

  • She contributed to the 2021 publication Pandemic Pedagogies Anthology, and a fall 2021 publication by the School of Art & Design at the University of Illinois in Champaign.

  • With R. Brewer and C.E. Buchanan, Bucci co-authored “Art Education after DBAE: A K-12 Postmodern Curriculum in Practice” for the 2019 publication Transdisciplinary Inquiry, Practice and Possibilities in Art Education, Proceedings from the Penn State Seminar @50.
