Keith W. Hodgson, currently serves as president of the Eastern Division of the National Association for Music Education. He is a proud Conn-Selmer educational clinician and an active guest conductor for high school honors ensembles.

Biography
Keith W. Hodgson teaches graduate and undergraduate conducting and percussion methods. Hodgson also handles fieldwork experiences and supervises student teachers in their elementary and secondary field placements. 

Hodgson currently serves as president of the Eastern Division of the National Association for Music Education, is a past-president of the New Jersey Music Educators Association and was a national board-certified teacher.

He is also conductor and artistic director of the South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble, head director of the American Music Abroad Gold Tour, a Conn-Selmer educational clinician, director of education of Zeswitz Music and an adjunct professor at Stockton University and New Jersey City University in NJ. Hodgson is an active guest conductor for high school honor bands, community bands and summer music camps as well as a band and orchestra clinician, guest speaker and professional development presenter. He annually presents at numerous state, regional and national conferences.

Experience

Hodgson’s experience in music education includes 

  • a 26-year career as a public school music educator; 
  • more than 20 years of regional, state and national leadership presidencies; 
  • over 20 years of international music tour travel and performance experience; and 
  • 25 years as conductor of a nationally recognized community band. 
  • He has presented at state and national conferences for more than 20 years and is in high demand for school clinics and professional development sessions as a Conn-Selmer Educational Clinician. 
  • Hodgson provides numerous educational event opportunities for Zeswitz Music as director of education.

  • Hodgson has been recognized numerous times for his work and service. 
  • He is the recipient of the 2014 New Jersey Governor's Award in the Arts for Leadership in Music.
  • He was a Grammy-nominated Music Educator quarter-finalist in 2014.
