Jami Benton received an English BA from University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, with a focus in literature, and an MA in Literature with a focus in post-modern Southern literature. As a graduate student, much of Benton’s study was focused in emerging gender theory applied to the works of William Faulkner and Zora Neale Hurston. Benton’s teaching focus has been in gender theory, intersectionality theory, queer theory, and queer history.
