Dr. Emily Mattingly is an award-winning researcher, learning program manager, and training designer. They are the director of both the Critical Studies Program and the First-Year Writing Program, units that serve all undergraduate students at the University of the Arts. They also manage the business minor and serve as the area’s curriculum development lead and advisor. 

Dr. Mattingly has a track-record of building and researching diverse educational products and programs. Prior to their current role as a senior academic officer, they were a teaching fellow and lead instructional trainer at the University of California, Riverside. Dr. Mattingly also managed various professional development and training programs focused on supporting the success of researchers and faculty. Their publications, talks, and collaborations explore training trends, inclusion and accessibility, and transforming data into meaningful insights about learning. 

Dr. Mattingly earned a PhD in English from the University of California, Riverside. They recently completed a post-graduate certificate in data science with an artificial intelligence focus from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, Austin.
