Working in oils and referencing art-historical styles, Charles Browning makes paintings that puncture the propaganda of American frontier mythology and comment on race, gender and power in American history. He received his BFA in Drawing and Illustration from The California College of the Arts, and his MFA from New York University. He has shown nationally and is represented by Schroeder Romero Gallery, NYC. He lives in Bucks County just north of Philadelphia with his wife, the author Lynda Gene Rymond, and various goats, chickens, and cats.
