PA Act 48

The Professional Institute for Educators and Summer Music Studies programs are approved providers of Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Act 48 professional development credits.  One graduate credit is equivalent to 30 Act 48 credits.  A three-credit graduate-level course is posted as Act 48 90-hour equivalency.  Courses taken for credit require additional work.  Non-credit coursework qualifies for the number of contact hours.

For credits to post, educators must supply their unique Professional Personnel Identification (PPID) number and submit an Act 48 Request Form to the UArts School of Professional Studies office. Educators may log into PDE's Professional Education Record Management System (PERMS) to obtain their PPID and to track credit progress.

The School of Professional Studies posts Act 48 to the State after final grades have been submitted, in batch uploads that typically occur during the last week of each month.
