Art Education (MAT)

Robin Brewer is a secondary art educator at Garnet Valley High School, Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, who specializes in photography and filmmaking/animation. She was chosen in 2021 as the Pennsylvania Art Education Association/National Art Education Association Pennsylvania Art Educator of the Year.

Biography

Robin Brewer holds an MFA from University of the Arts and a BFA in Photography from the University of Hawai‘i. She earned her art education certification from Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and has also earned a Master of Science in Education from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Experience

  • Brewer has been teaching art for more than 20 years and has been teaching pre-service art teachers for more than seven years.

  • Brewer is director-elect of the National Art Education Association’s Secondary Division

  • Brewer was named a Pennsylvania Art Education Association 2021 Outstanding Art Educator of the Year and a 2013 Secondary Art Educator of the Year. 

  • She has also been recognized with a faculty award and the Richard and Patricia Henkels Award from University of the Arts.
