Summary:
The Photography Department at University of the Arts located in Philadelphia, PA is establishing a pool of applicants for part time/adjunct positions. Classes will be taught in-person
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Part time faculty are expected to be positive leaders and demonstrate a desire to work collaboratively with a diverse student population. The University is particularly interested in reviewing applications from candidates with demonstrated investment in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, and whose identities and/or professional work intersect with or address historically marginalized communities.
Part-Time Instructor of Critical Theory in Photography is expected to provide special teaching expertise in the following areas;

  • Critical Theory in Contemporary Photography
  • Articulation of ideas in writing and in verbal discourse
  • Research-based writing

Education:

  • PhD, ABD, or an Advanced degree in a related field and/or significant professional experience

Experience:

  • Active and established scholar with a nationally recognized publishing record in the discourse of contemporary photographic theory
  • Prior teaching experience at the college level
