Welcome Weekend

Welcome Weekend is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 26, and is a day dedicated to welcoming all UArts students to campus and celebrating the start of the school year! Students can expect to participate in activities across campus like meeting all of our student clubs and organizations at the Student Activities Fair; connecting with one of our Community Channels; or going to the Philadelphia Art Museum, Zoo, or Magic Gardens during Dive into Philly. The day will end with our annual Glow Dance Party in Solmssen Court. 

Students who want to participate in the Dive into Philly activities need to sign up in advance. An email with the sign-up form will be sent to all students one week prior to Welcome Weekend.

 

Schedule of Events

Saturday, Aug. 26

  • 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Student Activities Fair: Hamilton Hall, Solmssen Court
  • 1–4 p.m. Dive into Philly: Roller Skate at River Rink (must sign up in advance through link in email)
  • 1–4 p.m. Dive into Philly: Philadelphia Zoo (must sign up in advance through link in email)
  • 4–6 p.m. Games and Greetings with the UArts Student Union: Student Center, Student Lounge
  • 4–6 p.m. Rotisserie Roundup: a Chicken Noodle Troupe Improv Production: Arts Bank, Cabaret Theater
  • 4–6 p.m. UArts Radio Live Show: Terra Hall, Caplan Recital Hall, 17th floor
  • 4-6 p.m. Coloring and Crafting with the UArts Programming Committee: Hamilton Hall, CBS Auditorium 
  • 5–6:30 p.m. Lightbox Film Center hosts a Movie Screening: Student Center, Levitt Auditorium, 3rd floor
  • 8–10 p.m. Glow Party/Paint Party: Hamilton Hall, Solmssen Court
