To complete the required online insurance form, you will need to login to your My UArts Record account on the Student Portal.

Note: The online insurance form will be active beginning 11/6/17 (for the Spring Semester). The next enrollment period for Fall 2018 will begin in May.


The University of the Arts requires that all full-time, matriculated students taking six or more credits carry health insurance either through their own insurance company or the school-based plan.

The school-based insurance company is Independence Administrators, which is a subsidiary of BlueCross/BlueShield.

Cost:

Fall 2017: Spring 2018: The cost of the plan is $968 and coverage begins on January 1st, 2018 and lasts until August 14th, 2018.


THE HEALTH INSURANCE FEE IS AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED ON EVERY STUDENT'S TUITION BILL.

TO REMOVE THE FEE: You will need to complete the insurance process at myuarts.uarts.edu/ahpins. The sooner you complete the insurance process, the sooner the fee will be removed from your bill but note that after 1/29/2018 (for Spring) we absolutely cannot make any changes to insurance information/billing. Please complete the insurance process before then, preferably as soon as possible.

IF YOU ARE ENROLLING IN THE SCHOOL INSURANCE: While the fee is automatically included on the tuition bill, it does not mean immediate enrollment in the school planYou must visit myuarts.uarts.edu/ahpins by 12/11/17 and opt-in to the school insurance in order to receive the full Spring coverage. We advise completing this process as soon as possible.


SPRING STUDENTS WHO DO NOT COMPLETE THE ONLINE INSURANCE FORM BY 1/29/17: Will be automatically enrolled in the school plan, with no exceptions or refunds. Rates will not be pro-rated to reflect the shortened coverage that will result by waiting until the final deadline.


Health Insurance Necessity at UArts:
The University of the Arts requires that all matriculated students taking six or more credits carry health insurance (either their own, or the school-based plan). You must have health insurance with major medical coverage. It is essential that your health insurance policy cover the costs of specialists, radiology, laboratory work, hospitalization, ambulance service and emergency room visits, to name a few.


School-based Health Insurance Plan:

The school-based insurance company is Independence Administrators, which is a subsidiary of BlueCross/BlueShield. Health Services works with a company by the name of Academic Health Plans (AHP) to facilitate the enrollment and coverage of students into the school-based plan. For that reason, students may have contact with AHP.

Cost: The cost for the Spring 2018 semester is $968.

Coverage Dates: Spring enreollees who opt-in at myuarts.uarts.edu/ahpins by 12/11/17 will be covered from 1/1/2018-8/14/2018.
