Dance (MFA)

Casey Brown, originally from Orlando, Florida, is a movement artist, poet, and educator. She is interested in dance as a way to rearrange relationships through and beyond the boundaries of space, time, birth, and death. What new forms of connection might emerge from this mixing? Common themes in her work include twinning, disappearing in plain sight, and avatar versions of identity.Casey holds an MFA in Dance from UCLA and has presented her choreography at venues on both coasts, including UCLA’s Kaufman Theater, the Electric Lodge, the McCarter Theater and Highways Performance Space. She currently performs an evening length duet with choreographer Chantal Cherry, and, while in LA, she also performed works by Rayven Armijo/Cuerva Urban Folklórico, Melinda Ring, Maria Hassabi, Victoria Marks, and Jeanine Durning. Prior, she graduated magna cum laude from Princeton with an AB in English and certificates in dance and creative writing.
