Dance (MFA)

Brazilian dance maker living in France, Pol Pi is interested in a broader understanding of the choreographic field, working around questions about memory and temporality, language, and notions of archive and translation in dance, with a particular interest for site specific performances.

He studied classical music at the University of Campinas (Brazil) and from 2013 to 2015 he attended the master in choreography « exerce » in Montpellier. He has already performed for Clarissa Sacchelli, Eszter Salamon, Latifa Laabissi / Nadia Lauro, Pauline Simon, Robert Whitman, Aude Lachaise, Anna Anderegg and Anne Collod. From 2010 he starts developing his own choreographic projects, which he showed in several cities and festivals in Brazil before coming to France. He produced and directed the 5 editions of Free to Fall São Paulo (a scratch night project)  and worked as a professional musician for more than 10 years. In France, Pol created the soli ECCE (H)OMO (March 2017), ALEXANDRE (May 2018), Me too, Galatée (Octobre 2018) and  (March 2019), already presented at the Centre national de la danse, Festival Montpellier Danse, Musée de la Danse, Festival NEXT/Espace Pasolini, PACT Zollverein/Essen, Transforma Festival/Sevilla, La Raffinerie/Charleroi Danse, Antistatik Festival/Sofia and Uzès Danse, among others.
