The National Center for Transgender Equality advocates to change policies and society to increase understanding and acceptance of transgender people. 

The NCTE website includes comprehensive information for trans individuals and their allies, including issues facing the trans community; understanding rights under the law; ways to take action to advocate for trans rights; and self-help guides on how to legally update names and gender markers, navigate healthcare coverage for trans-related care and find legal assistance.

Located on the fourth floor of William Way LGBT Community Center, the Arcila-Adams Trans Resource Center was dedicated in November 2019. Its mission is to connect the trans and gender-nonconforming community to opportunities, services, resources and each other, to achieve their vision of a stronger, healthier, more equitable world for trans-identified people and their allies. 

Services include assistance for enrolling in health insurance, accessing food assistance programs, and completing name change and other legal documents; referrals to healthcare and therapy providers; career and job services; and access to informational brochures from area organizations that provide services and programs for trans and gender-nonconforming individuals.

The Peer Counseling Program of the William Way LGBT Community Center offers one-to-one counseling that is confidential and free of charge. It offers short-term, goal-oriented counseling. Trained peer counselors are available by phone, walk-in or appointment, Monday–Friday evenings, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Counseling is free and confidential.

The Attic Youth Center is a Philadelphia-based organization exclusively serving LGBTQIA+ youth. The LGBT National Help Center, founded in 1996, is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that provides vital peer support, community connections and resource information to people with questions regarding sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Utilizing a diverse group of LGBT volunteers, the center operates three national hotlines, the LGBT National Hotline, the LGBT National Youth Talkline and the LGBT National Senior Hotline, as well as private, volunteer one-to-one online chat, which helps both youth and adults with coming-out issues, safer-sex information, school bullying, family concerns, relationship problems and a lot more.

The AccessMatters Hotline helps thousands of callers each year make informed personal decisions about their sexual and reproductive healthcare needs. AccessMatters Counselors provide education, counseling and referrals to people who are often in crisis when they call and require immediate, accurate and unbiased healthcare information. In addition to providing education and information, hotline counselors solicit consumer feedback and work with healthcare providers to improve client services.
