Joe Rapone presently serves as associate professor in the school of design. He previously served as dean of University programs in the College of Art, Media and Design. He also has served as associate dean and program co-director of the first year Core Studies program. Prior to that, as the director of University publications he has been recognized with awards from the American Institute of Graphic Design (AIGA), the American Association of Museums (AAM), the Art Directors Club (ADC), Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the University and College Designer’s Association (UCDA). He has extensive experience in curricular and communications design, marketing in a variety of settings, including print, web and social media systems. His work has been exhibited nationally in the US and internationally in Tianjin and Singapore. Joe is a graduate of the University of the Arts with a BFA in graphic design, an MA in art education, and has done postgraduate studies at Yale University.

Teaching is an opportunity for me to help guide individuals in their search for meaning in themselves and our world to instill in them a sense of the responsibility that comes with the power to influence others.
