Music - Vocal Performance (BM)

Philadelphia-based jazz vocalist Laurin Talese has performed on myriad stages around the globe with a host of internationally celebrated recording artists including Bilal, Robert Glasper, Vivian Green, Sullivan Fortner, and Christian McBride, among others. She has appeared in multiple venues within the East Coast as a featured artist, and late last year opened for renowned singer-songwriter Amos Lee at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC), and additional venues in Pennsylvania and Virginia. Laurin recently took first place in the seventh annual Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition, also known as the Sassy Awards.

Her debut album entitled Gorgeous Chaos was produced by and, features, in-demand music directors/producers, Adam Blackstone (Justin Timberlake, Rihanna) and Ulysses Owens, Jr. (Christian McBride, Kurt Elling, Wynton Marsalis), as well as a list of jazz elite and special guests such as Robert Glasper, Christian McBride, Christian Sands, prominent R&B vocalist, Vivian Green, and longtime collaborator Eric Wortham II (Adele), among others. The recording received considerable recognition including being listed among the top 10 jazz albums in the Chicago Tribune, debuting on the Billboard jazz charts and several other accolades.
