Creative Writing Summer Institute Coordinator

Les has a Masters in Fiction Writing from Temple University where he still teaches, along with his appointment at UArts, during the school year. He has been teaching writing since 2008. Les has taught for Pre-College since 2014, and has been the Coordinator for the Creative Writing Institute since 2016. His classes in each writing discipline focus on exploring objectively sound methods for creativity while leaving students a broad scope for experimenting with style, voice, and theme, but also looking outward to the world in which we live to draw connections between classroom knowledge and engagement with the rest of life. Writing, and all art, is not merely something one does, but is a reflection of and a hammer with which to shape the reality in which we live, as well as drawing connections between human beings from various times, places, and ideologies.
