Coordinator, Creative Writing (Pre-College Summer Institute)
Adjunct Assistant, First Year Writing Program
Robinson earned a Masters in Fiction Writing from Temple University. He has taught writing at Temple University since 2008 and at University of the Arts since 2013. His writing classes use critical inquiry to engage with the arts, primarily using the Philadelphia environment as subject.
He began teaching for Pre-College in 2014, and has been the Coordinator for the Creative Writing Institute since 2016. His Summer Institute classes in each writing discipline focus on exploring objectively sound methods for creativity while leaving students a broad scope for experimenting with style, voice, and theme, but also looking outward to the world in which we live to draw connections between classroom knowledge and engagement with the rest of life. Writing, and all art, is not merely something one does, but is a reflection of and a hammer with which to shape the reality in which we live, as well as drawing connections between human beings from various times, places, and ideologies.
