Janeill Cooper is a native of Queens, NY where she began her dance training at the Edge School of the Arts. She continued her training at Frank Sinatra High School of the Arts, which opened the door for her to work with choreographers like Jessica Lang and Desmond Richardson, and to perform with the Martha Graham Dance Company. She attended the The Ailey School’s Summer Intensive on scholarship in 2012, and continued into the Junior Division Scholarship Program the following year. Janeill has twice attended Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts summer intensive, and there performed works by Earl Mosley, Christal Brown, and Rennie Harris to name a few. In 2013, Janeill began her pursuit of a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield, where she has since performed works by Sidra Bell, Gary Jeter, and William Forsythe, among others. She is currently a fourth year student at the University and is celebrating her first season with EVIDENCE.
