UArts Student is First Male Eagles Cheerleader in 35 Years

May 10, 2019

Look for UArts Dance major Kyle Tanguay ’20 at Lincoln Financial Field this fall. In April 2019, the Philadelphia Eagles welcomed him to its cheerleading squad. Tanguay is the first male cheerleader for the Eagles in 35 years.

“To become an Eagles cheerleader is an absolute dream come true,” Tanguay says. “This organization has continually proven itself to be one of the most inclusive and diverse teams in the NFL.

I am grateful to have had an amazing two years studying dance at University of The Arts, and I do believe that I could not have accomplished this milestone without the support of my peers, professors and friends. This educational institution opened the doors of Philadelphia to me and with that came a love for this city that is unmatched.”

Tanguay wasn’t the only UArts student who auditioned: Two other cheerleading finalists, Azari Ford ’21 (Dance), Rae Holtzman ’21 (Dance), also attend UArts.
