Sent Aug. 27, 2020, to students

Dear Students,

We are pleased to announce a call for applicants for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Student Fellowship, furthering the University's goal to empower students to play a meaningful and leading role in institutional anti-racism and diversity work. This compensated position will begin this academic year 2020-2021.

This initiative has been in development for more than a year, and I would like to thank the members of the DEI Taskforce and the staff members across departments who have worked diligently to envision and finalize this program.

DEI Fellows will advocate for their student peers, participate in the development of diversity-related education, programming, and strategic planning, and provide a direct means of communication between University leadership and the student body. The DEI Student Fellow program comprises one undergraduate student from each school at the University, as well as one graduate student from any program.

Interested students should visit to learn more and submit an application which requires two faculty letters of recommendation, by September 8, 2020.

All applications will be reviewed by each applicant’s school dean, and final determinations will be made by the DEI selection committee.

All interested students are encouraged to apply.

Best wishes,
