Jhelan Ashané Gordon-Salaam

Faculty
Jhelan Ashané Gordon-Salaam is a young artist scholar dedicated to movement research, education, and art making. With dance and performance having been her primary focus for over twenty years she has been expanding her expressionism into more shareable mediums. JAGS advocates for the power of knowledge and pulls her research together through the lenses of dance, meditation, feminism and afro-futurism. It is her pleasure to be graduating from the University of the Arts with a Masters in Fine Arts in Dance in the Fall of 2020; just over two years after receiving her BFA in Dance and a certificate for teacher training in Franklin Method.
