Jhelan Ashané Gordon-Salaam (JAGS) is a young artist scholar dedicated to movement research, education, and art making. With dance and performance having been her primary focus for over 20, she has been expanding her expressionism into more shareable media. JAGS advocates for the power of knowledge and pulls her research together through the lenses of dance, meditation, feminism, and Afro-futurism. She graduated from University of the Arts with an MFA in Dance in fall 2020, just over two years after earning her BFA in Dance and a certificate for teacher training in Franklin Method.
